Floral and Draping Workshop – Learn how to be a Wedding Decorator

Workshop Details

Elliott Events will host a training workshop in Middle Tennessee  in January 2014 ( Dates TBA). The workshop is designed to teach invaluable skills to someone interested in starting an event or wedding decorating business. This workshop is also a great tool to current designers that wish to expand their business and introduce new ideas to their market.

The workshop will provide you with hands on experience in the following areas:

*Ceiling Drape                                                          * Floral Arrangements

*Wall Drape                                                               * Personal Flowers

*Chutzpah’s

 

We will also have a Q&A session where I will answer questions and discuss pricing  and other valuable information.

 

You will also be provided a wholesale list of where to purchase products for your future endeavors.

 

Two day workshop cost – $1500

Nancy and John Paul’s Wedding Set-up!

We are SO excited to share set up and sneak peak details from Nancy and John Paul’s Enchanted Forest themed wedding today! The lovely couple held their reception at the National Dance Clubs of Murfreesboro and have been a blast to work with. The already beautiful venue featured a large open floor plan with elegant chandeliers,  hardwood floors and its own unique charm. We loved being a part of the transformation and seeing the couple’s vision come to life!!

Hollywood Glam Style Shoot

Last January, Wedding 101 asked me to lead the design and flowers for a Hollywood Glam style shoot at The Capitol Theatre in Lebanon. As soon as I heard them say, “I was in! The venue featured beautiful emerald colored curtains which provided the perfect backdrop for  our color palette of shimmering golds and ivories. Celebrating my 6 year anniversary

Carnell and I have been together so long it is hard for me to remember life without him. He is the best thing that has ever happen to me and  I feel so very lucky to be his wife. I got a little sentimental last night and watched our wedding video. Looking back we were just babies getting married. I was 23 and he was 24 and in reality we didn’t have life figured out (like we thought) but what we did know is that our love was unconditional. As I look back on our wedding day 6 years later I am so thankful Carnell chose me to be his bride. I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world.  Here is a look back on our wedding day.  It was truly the best day of my life.

Lyndsey & Kevin are getting married!

This weekend one of my college friends and sorority sisters is getting married. I was so thrilled she chose me to help her plan her wedding day. How did you get into this business?
We’ve always had a passion for capturing unexpected moments. It all started while working for a dance studio when Melodie was asked to photograph and pose all of the dancers. She had a unique eye for posing and the photos turned out great. A few months later one of the students mother asked her to photograph her upcoming wedding. From there on we were hooked. There is nothing more exhilarating and rewarding as to be part of a bride and grooms best day of their life.

What do you think distinguishes your work from that of other photographers?
We look at every event as having the Four P’s of Photography.

Product-We believe there’s a real need to be creative and ‘stand out from the pack’; we’re different and that our photos don’t just look like the most recent Pinterest board but always something new and creative.

Presentation-We aren’t just a company that shows up to an event, shoots, and heads back home. We are a company that presents itself in an amazing, fun environment. We love to laugh; everyday! So we like to give that to out clients and our vendors.

Promotions-You won’t just see a brand that is all over social media and the internet but you’ll also see a company that wants to give back as much as possible.

People-People are our most important asset and not just the AngelWings Photography team but the clients and the vendors themselves. When we say customer service we mean it. Our clients are part of the family, all Angel Wings Photography owners are trained in customer service by a veteran in the customer service and sales industry.

The Ultra Lounge is home to a beautiful, customized bar-front made by OZ Artist-in-Residence Brian Somerville, four flat screen televisions and sleek hideaway doors that allow the outside space to gracefully join the inside. It’s custom, slick finish is yet another detail that makes their Ultra Lounge the perfect space to host a private reception.

The Veranda was modeled after a 5-star safari resort. Re-created in a more contemporary style. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings at OZ. The chocolate brown cushions, customized fire pit and extraordinary hideaway doors that lead to the Ultra Lounge make this space uniquely diverse for your event needs.

The ‘Escaparate’ was, and still is, a focal point at OZ. In its peak cigar days, it was the Ozgener’s personal walk-in humidor and held over 100,000 of the family’s private cigar blends.
Today, it showcases beautiful works of art within the display windows. The Escaparate is seductive and carries a bit of mystique when utilizing the space for an event. It is the perfect environment in which to host an intimate dinner for 12.

Zen Garden

The Zen Garden aims to inspire and reflect, it is a tranquil place to simply be and recharge. It was built according to sacred geometry with an East and West orientation, the stones are placed in significant points to pick up harmony and peace. The Zen Garden can be utilized to host outdoor wedding ceremonies.

Boardroom

Rental fee:
The rental fee varies depending on the space you choose to utilize at OZ. Pricing ranges between $3,000.00 – $5,200.00

What’s included in the rental fee?
All events include the use of the contracted, specified OZ space(s) for a (12)-hour period. The rental fee also includes (1) OZ facility manager, (1) security guard, and cleaning fee. Depending on the space utilized, other variables may or may not be included such as rental equipment.

Rental times:
The rental times are in 12-hour increments and typically are between the hours of 12:00 noon and midnight. Other arrangements may be made if agreed upon by your account manager. If you require additional rental times day of, this can be arranged for $250.00/hour.

1. How did you get into this business?
My first career was in morning radio here in Nashville and as I learned more about private and special events, this was a path I wanted to take. I loved radio, but I always wanted to connect with more people. In radio, I was in a studio, here I get to meet clients, shake hands and hear their stories.

2. How long have you been in this business?
This is our 14th year in business

3.What events do you enjoy working the most?
Our team performs at over 200 events annually and a good portion of those events are weddings. Weddings and corporate events are our favorites.

4. Have you worked with Elliott events? If so, did you enjoy working with us?
We have worked many events with Tiffany and the Elliott events crew. We enjoy the camaraderie of the conversations, artistic vision brought to each event and the level of professionalism on display.

5. What sets you apart from your competition?
The bottom line is fairly simple in our book. All DJ’s play music and we all have gear. What sets us apart is that our ultimate goal is to offer “white glove” treatment to our customers from the time they inquire about our services and even after the last song plays. We provide exclusive online planning tools that is simply unmatched in the Nashville market. Our product offerings are extensive which adds value to our clients as they can go from dealing with multiple vendors to simply having “one hand to shake” with our entertainment team.

6. Are there any other services that you provide, such as lighting design?
We offer lighting decor and design, photo booths, instagram print stations and more.

7. How extensive is your music library or song list? What genres can you cover? Can I give you a specific list of songs I want or don’t want played?
Our library is ever expanding and extremely extensive. We pay for “cloud” based internet services that allow our team to download nearly any song that has been recorded by a label. Our exclusive online planning portal allows you to create a Must Play List and a Do Not Play List

8. Do you act as the “emcee” and make all of the announcements?
All our team members are professional DJ’s and Emcees. We have a monthly staff meeting and training session along with quarterly and annually based training seminars to enhance both of these skills.

9. How would you define your “style” when making announcements?
Our team is very polished and planned. We like to partner with our clients throughout the planning process so we can really understand their vision for their event and then not only do we want to execute, but also help facilitate the evening as discussed. No surprises for our clients and offering a clean production for their guests.

Fun Fact: A group of my friends planned a music festival called music in the Middle Modern Arts Festival and had over 100 bands perform there and sold 3,500 tickets.

What made you interested in this internship?

Junamae an employee of Elliott Events told me about the internship but I have always wanted to shadow a wedding planner.

What are you most excited about interning with Elliott Events?

I am most excited to get hands-on experience and advice. Also to learn from experience. I am also excited to make memories for people by helping with all of the events!
